Lululemon co-founder steps down in wake of 'women's bodies' remark
Tue Dec 10, 2013
Yep, right on. What he said is irrelevant. The only relevant fact is that what he said hurt the company's sales and, as a publicly held company, that's a big problem. When you have shareholders, your primary job as a high ranking officer is to return value to those shareholders. Clearly, he's been f …
Sorry bud, I can't afford to be your best man
Tue Jun 11, 2013
In reply to: v2011 #3 While I totally agree with your premise, you have to admit that your circumstances are very unique. Most people don't have a seamstress in the family. I'm not saying spend thousands on a wedding dress, but very few people can do it the way you did it.
Flash floods, storm surges menace East Coast as Andrea meanders north
Fri Jun 7, 2013
Hoboken, NJ is not near the ocean. It floods because the infrastructure is overdeveloped and the pumps that push the water back out to the Hudson hit capacity too quickly.
Menu labels a 'thorny' issue, FDA head says
Tue Mar 12, 2013
I have to disagree. I eat good foods. I work out 4-5 times a week. I'm definitely knowledgeable about nutrition. But, I have to say, when the calorie counts went up in NYC I was ASTONISHED at how high some of them were for foods I would have considered healthy. I'm not talking about McD's either - I …

NYC school bus drivers: Strike won't end until we get job protections
Wed Jan 16, 2013
Any why can't private companies run background checks? Does the government have a monopoly on those? I work for a private company that runs background checks and drug tests for our drivers on an annual basis, sometimes six months if the client requests it.

'Broken heart' and other fake sick day excuses
Fri Oct 12, 2012
I think "broken heart" is a legit excuse. Of course, not for a sustained period of time, but for one day? Absolutely. I was dumped out of the blue a few days before we were supposed to move in together. It was the worst night of my life. I took the day - and my boss was glad I did. There was no way …
Motherhood overrated? 'Childfree' women OK with their choice, study finds
Thu Oct 11, 2012
Well said, Beth. While I don't have a medical condition, I fall into the "can't find the right partner" camp. Newly single at 30, I'm starting to realize that it may not happen for me. I'll never be one of those women who will rush a relationship just to have kids, so it's in fate's hands really. Th …
Hotel worker: TripAdvisor review cost me my job
Fri Oct 5, 2012
While I agree that there are fake reviews out there, there are also good and real ones. I post to TripAdvisor all the time and I always try to be fair and honest. Most of my reviews are positive - I only leave a negative review when I feel like I have been completely wronged or when something about …
